150 deportistas participaron en Torneo Abierto de Baloncesto 3 x 3

La actividad deportiva para personas con y sin discapacidad intelectual se realizó el jueves
28 y viernes 29 de septiembre y fue organizada por Olimpiadas Especiales Chile y el
“Logramos el primer lugar del torneo, pero lo que más destaco es el competir y pasarla
bien con mis compañeros”. Con estas palabras, Dante, jugador de la Escuela Especial Los
Copihues, resume lo que fue el Primer Torneo de Baloncesto 3 x 3 organizado por
Olimpiadas Especiales y el AIEP.
Asistieron 150 deportistas, entre atletas y entrenadores, quienes
dejaron todo en la cancha durante el torneo realizado en el centro deportivo del AIEP que
tuvo como grandes triunfadores a las Escuela Especial Sargento Candelaria en damas.
Mientras que en varones el primer lugar del grupo A lo obtuvo la Escuela Los Copihues.
Talento Humano se quedó con el podio en el grupo B.
Carolina Picasso, presidenta de Olimpiadas Especiales Chile estuvo presente en la inauguración junto a autoridades de la casa de estudios y señaló que “fue una muy linda actividad deportiva y mejor aún con la cantidad de jóvenes que estuvieron presentes. Agradecer al AIEP porque hemos ido creciendo juntos y este debería ser el modelo a replicar por todas las instituciones del país. Los felicito por la visión que han tenido y jugársela por la inclusión”.
Por su parte, José Antonio Álvarez de Toledo, vicerrector académico de AIEP manifestó su
compromiso con la actividad deportiva: “En nuestra casa de estudios hemos tomado el
tema de la inclusión de forma muy prioritaria. Estamos incluyendo todo lo que tenga que
ver con inclusión dentro de nuestra formación, de modo tal que los estudiantes puedan
tener valores y puedan ser mucho más asertivos, empáticos y mejores personas”.
Al evento deportivo acudieron las destacadas atletas y entrenadoras que lograron medalla
de bronce en la disciplina de baloncesto 3 x 3 en los Juegos Mundiales de Berlín 2023. Las
deportistas lucieron sus medallas y felicitaron a la organización por la actividad deportiva
de calidad que se realizó.
